ANZ KiwiSaver Performance - June 2022

Using the most recent returns and fund update reports from 30 June 2022, we will examine ANZ’s recent KiwiSaver Performance.

Australia and New Zealand bank (ANZ) was established in 1835, and the ANZ KiwiSaver funds have performed relatively well compared to the market average. The balanced, conservative, and growth funds have generated returns of 4.54%, 5.72% and 6.59%, respectively, since their inception date in October 2007. Statistics show that the ANZ KiwiSaver scheme still holds the largest number of members, with  581,054 as of 31 March 2022.

In recent months, the coronavirus pandemic has started to ease, allowing New Zealand borders to entirely re-open. However, the negative impacts of the pandemic have had a significant influence on the New Zealand economy. New Zealand citizens have had a drastic increase in the cost of living as the quarterly inflation rate was 1.7%, with an annual inflation rate of 7.3%. Also, the official cash rate (OCR) was raised a further 50 basis points in May, taking the total OCR to 2.0%. Therefore, these societal contemporary issues have majorly affected ANZ KiwiSaver performance.
