National Capital are Financial Advisers specialising in KiwiSaver & Investment research. We were founded in 2018 and now advise Kiwis on over $100 million of their KiwiSaver savings. We are based in Auckland, but serve clients all over New Zealand. We provide free KiwiSaver advice, with the goal of empowering one million Kiwis to become financially secure.

In our journey, we've had the pleasure of working with some amazing Interns.

Alex Dam
Alex studies a Bachelor of Business majoring in finance and entrepreneurship at Auckland University of Technology. He is passionate about startups and combat sports. He worked alongside David to research and perform qualitative and quantitative analysis on several KiwiSaver funds, which then were used to create comprehensive research reports. Alex also assisted in the refinement of National Capital's Investment selection process.

Alicia Reid
Alicia is an Economics and Finance student at Auckland University of Technology. She was previously a Ballerina at The Mikhailovsky Theatre in Saint Petersburg and is now starting her new career in Business. She assisted our Financial Advisers in processing clients' KiwiSaver Recommendations, creating advice documents and coming up with new content for National Capital's website.

Andrew Orbell
Andrew helped our clients with the implementation of their KiwiSaver recommendations. He also managed our team of SuperInterns. Andrew is a graduate of Auckland University of Technology with a Bachelor of Business, majoring in Finance and Accounting.

Ashay has a Master of International Business from the University of Auckland. As an Investment Analyst, he performed quantitative and qualitative research on KiwiSaver fund managers to create research reports, performance reports, and fund updates. Ashay also assisted with IT support.

Naman Thapar
Naman is majoring in Information Systems and Computer Science at the University of Auckland. During his time at National Capital, Naman worked on a variety of tasks. These tasks included developing a business case, and research towards improving the digital advice logic of the company’s advice algorithm. Naman played a crucial part in analysing client’s information and providing clients human-made decisions that could be further implemented into AI. His initial research into process management systems helped National Capital establish a proficient structure for complex scenarios and troubleshooting.

Peijun has a Master's degree in Applied Finance from Auckland University of Technology. Peijun has been one of our interns since July 2020. She was mainly in charge of the maintenance, oversight, and improvement of our company policies. Now she takes the responsibility of creating Mandarin blogs on our website. Philip is studying for a Masters of Global Business at Auckland University of Technology. He loves the outdoors and going on small adventures. National Capital has taught Philip a great deal about becoming a creative thinker and what it means to work in a team environment. He found that he is extremely dedicated to and enthusiastic about investing. His responsibilities include qualitative and quantitative analysis on several KiwiSaver funds and showcasing the result of his research on the website for everyday kiwis.

Rishabh is studying a Bachelors degree in Information Systems and Computer Science at the University of Auckland. Passionate about data and exploring new technologies, his entrepreneurial and technical skills played a large part in National Capital's early stages. He obtained stakeholders' requirements, mapped user stories, and communicated with technical and business stakeholders. He also presented a business proposal to stakeholders which was implemented and achieved great success.

Rui Shen

Rui has a Masters's degree in applied finance. She worked with James to deliver high-quality personalised solutions in KiwiSaver investments for our clients. Her primary responsibilities include analysing financial information, generating statements of advice and investment strategy modelling.

Tashia Kemps

Tashia has completed her bachelor degree in Business Management specialising in Marketing at Unitec Institute of Technology. As a marketing intern she worked with David to carry out market research and testing for new business in the Waikato region. She was also able to assist in analysing current marketing and sales funnels for National Capital.

William Austin
William studies a Bachelor of Business majoring in Finance and Economics at AUT. With an eye towards postgraduate research in Economics and Finance, William enjoys learning about and sharing his knowledge of personal finance to others.
