Emilly, our communications intern, talks us through the government's First Home Grant and how it could help you buy your first home.
To be eligible, you would need to have regularly contributed to KiwiSaver for three or more years. You can receive the maximum amount granted by contributing for 5 years. The First Home Grant can grant up to $5k per individual buying an existing home and up to $10k per individual buying or building a new home. A maximum of $20k applies per dwelling.
